Under the Accel Program, high school students may complete core academic courses at Atlanta Technical College while also attending a Georgia public high school. The applicant must adhere to the following admissions requirements:

  • Be at least 16 years of age and classified as a junior or senior.
  • Submit an Atlanta Technical College application with the nonrefundable application fee.
  • Submit Accel program form with the appropriate signatures from the student, the student’s parent or guardian, and the public school official.
  • Submit an official high school transcript.

  • Must have an appropriate placement score from ASSET, SAT or ACT. Students participating in the Accel program are eligible for Prep courses. Successful test scores on one of the following:

  • * ASSET
    * SAT (Verbal: 430 and Math: 400)
    * ACT (English: 18 and Math: 16)
  • Applicants desiring to take courses for transfer to the University System of Georgia must meet the University System requirements prior to taking those courses at Atlanta Technical College.
  • Submit the Accel Tuition Grant Form prior to registration each quarter (see high school counselor).
  • Coursework taken in the Accel program will count towards HOPE Scholarship cumulative hours.

  • Note: Students attending public high school full-time (all-day) will not be eligible for the Accel program.
